i always mess with my dad on this day every year. he always asks “who’s birthday is today?”. and of course, i always answer… dave matthews!
hah. always gives me a good laugh. but yes, today is my dad’s birthday and is shared by dave matthews. so, happy birthday to both of you.
in other news, i finally scheduled my a+ exams for the end of the month. that means i have about 3 weeks to study my ass off. i have no expectations of passing the tests the first time, but i’d like to very much. save me from spending another $300 on the same tests. wish me luck.
other than that, i’m at a loss. nothing really new in the great garden state. nothing of interest, anyway. take care, have a great weekend.
seacrest, OUT!
hey everyone. happy new year. sorry the time between posts has gotten so long. i’ve been so busy for the holidays that i haven’t had the motivation to post anything. i was going to post a 2008 wrap-up… too lazy. i was going to post at the LEAST a happy new year post on the 1st… too lazy. the holidays take it outta me, man.
i hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. i know i did. well. the happy part. i probably wasn’t safe. but that’s beside the point. do as i say, not as i do. or something.
i got the record player i’ve been asking for from crystal. yay! everyone gives me an odd look when i say record player, but yes. it plays records. vinyl. for those of you who don’t know, records were around when i was growing up. they are big vinyl discs that play music. oooooh! i know. you know nothing other than cd’s and itunes. but yeah, it’s awesome. i got neil diamond’s greatest hits on vinyl, too. sweet!
crystal got a pair of uggs she was asking for. i had to order them in freaking september to make sure they were here for christmas. (i hope) she loves them.
but anyway, i digress. i posted some photos from christmas and new years up on my facebook. so those of you who have the address can check them out. otherwise, sucks to be you. hah. just kidding.
or am i ?
as the very wise kyle broflovski once said…
“it’s hard to be a jew on christmas”
well, i guess that is if you really practice your religion. but that’s beside the point.
as a “jew”, i still practice the yearly christmas tradition of chinese food and the movies on christmas day. although i think this year we’ll be skipping the chinese food, as the last few times made me feel like a giant turd.
i think we’re going to end up seeing “the spirit” which opens tomorrow. we try to make an early enough show that people are still celebrating, but not so early we miss dinner at nonna’s. last year we saw “sweeney todd”. it was actually not bad. i hear tim burton is doing “alice in wonderland”. can’t wait to see that piece of trash. can’t he just do original stuff again? what’s with the remakes? “edward scissorhands” rocked!
anyway, this is just going to be a short post to wish everyone a very merry christmas, happy hanukkah, merry/happy/joyous kwanzaa or whatever holiday you’re celebrating.
drink one for me.
we’ve spent the last 3 months complaining about the holidays, and now, they’re almost over. finally.
i don’t consider myself a grinch. i do like the holidays. i just hate everything about them. the parties you don’t want attend, the gifts you are obligated to buy, christmas cards… need i go on?
i’m all for the family, the gifts, the dinners and parties (that you do want to go to). but putting holidays decorations up in the malls in october leaves a sour taste in my mouth. i am looking forward to the next couple of days. the culmination of it all. it comes so fast and gone even faster. next thing you know, it’ll be sping. thank god.
so, in saying all that, i wish everyone a very merry christmahannukwanzaakah! and happy new year to all.
sorry the posting has been so sparse. my computer is still in the process of being fixed. i just shipped it out to hp the day before thanksgiving. they said anywhere from 1 and a half to 2 weeks. so i haven’t done much in the way of posting. i don’t want to get too used to using my old computer.
hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! more to come soon.
it’s pretty unbelievable that’s thanksgiving is thursday. it doesn’t feel like that time of year yet. not to me, at least. i think it’s partially to do with the fact that they started playing christmas music on the radio and movies on tv more than a month ago. come on. they do this every year. next year, they’ll start at the end of september, and will continue on this path until they keep christmas decorations up all year. black friday will be every friday. and the holidays, like they haven’t already, lose their meaning completely.
some call me the grinch. some call me scrooge. i don’t hate the holidays. i hate the commercialism behind them.
i heard a great idea on the radio last week. we should do the holidays every 4 years, like the olympics. 4 years are spent bidding on who will hold the festivities. uncle bill will give his reasons, as would aunt flo. then you vote, and whoever wins, hosts the holidays. and this way, having the holidays every 4 years, they’ll be that much more exciting. and instead of christmas music, we can just play the olympic theme on the radio and in malls.
genius.
and my new hdd doesn’t work.
and i have to send the computer back to hp.
and i have to be without it for a week and a half to two weeks.
un-freaking-believable.
