i did actually make it to the apple store yesterday. it was pretty strange walking around an empty mall, but also slightly calming. it’s like walking through grand central station at 3 in the morning… without all the homeless people.
the apple genius michael that i spoke to was pretty helpful. i always feel like a douche bag when i need technical assistance with anything. anyway, after a few minutes the prognosis was exactly what i thought it was… the hard drive on my ipod is shot. it’ll sync… slowly. it’ll play… but pause between songs. if it were a pc, it would bsod on me all the time.
so, michael said i could recycle mine and get 10% off the purchase of a new one. yeah ok, when i get that spare $350 to buy the one i actually want, i’ll get back to you.
